This week we worship once again with friends from Lincoln Road at Westminster United. Since the weather forecast appears to suggest very warm temperatures over the coming days, we will gather in the Friendship Centre for the service. This Sunday we centre our thoughts around the young prophet Jeremiah and his reluctance to accept God’s call. We also look at the woman whom Jesus released from personal suffering. What do these stories have to teach us about our life with God? What kind of expectation do we bring to our faith? Joy is again our reader and Kathleen will host the “community time” following worship.

As many of you will know we had our laptop stolen last weekend. It still has not been recovered. Efforts are being taken to tighten security around our building and groups using the space have agreed to help. Over the coming weeks we will pursue opportunities to replace the stolen equipment. In the meantime, we will use a borrowed laptop.

Tuesday morning (August 24) a group of folks from Lincoln Road and Westminster are going to Detroit to visit a small congregation that has developed an extensive outreach ministry. We leave around 9am, for a 10am visit with the minister. We will have a quick bite of lunch at a nearby restaurant and then return to Windsor. If you’d like to participate please speak to David.
